Just earlier today, I was speaking with one of my children that had been dealt a setback as part of her college experience.
Obviously, as a dad I am also devastated. But at the same time, I am encouraging her to decide what she really wants. If that chosen career is her true “dream job,” then I will say ‘stop at nothing and go create what you want one way or another.’
And if not, pivot and re-direct.
I speak about this from personal experience. I too have a past setback that kept me (at the time) from following my dreams.
And as I shared today with my daughter, there is not a day that goes by that I don’t shake my head a little bit and ask, “what if?”
I wish that on no one.
So for you, I encourage you to resolve where you are going and what is most important to you.
Once you do, the ups and downs of the day will have little bearing on the outcomes—only on the tactics necessary to win.
Dreams = challenges. Otherwise, everyone would already have what you desire. But the gift is in the journey called ‘hard work.’
